Meet Court Jester:
Tim and Kelly Cotton

Court Jester is an Edmonton-based husband-and-wife dueling-piano duo built around musical range, audience requests and the chemistry of two performers who know how to read each other and the room. Tim and Kelly combined forces in 2016 after building separate careers in live entertainment.

Kelly Alaina Cotton

Kelly began her live-entertainment career in 2007 with Bella Rouge, a trio formed by singers who met in MacEwan University’s Vocal Performance program. She began performing dueling pianos in 2014 and developed her request-show experience in venues across Alberta.

Kelly performs across genres, with a particular love for pop music and Disney favourites. Her work as a singer, songwriter, producer and fitness instructor adds another dimension to the energy she brings to the stage.

Tim Cotton

Tim has worked professionally in live entertainment since 2003, beginning with solo piano request shows in pubs and venues across Alberta. In 2008, he became one of the original players at The Red Piano and performed throughout its eight-year run.

In addition to piano and vocals, Tim brings guitar, rock-and-roll energy and East Coast favourites into Court Jester shows. His experience with request-driven rooms helps him recognize when to lead the crowd, when to change direction and when to let a musical moment build.

Performing together since 2016

Tim and Kelly formed Court Jester together in 2016. Since then, they have performed for corporate teams, weddings, fundraisers, festivals, public venues and private celebrations across Canada.

Their work has also led to conversations about the psychology of music—why familiar songs, unexpected requests and shared participation can change the energy of a room.
